ATLANTA (AP) — The Atlanta Braves placed outfielder Sam Hilliard on the 10-day injured list with a bruised right heel on Wednesday and returned left fielder Eddie Rosario to the starting lineup.After missing two games with tightness in his right hamstring, Rosario is starting in Wednesday night’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks.Hilliard started in left field in Tuesday night’s wild 16-13 loss to the Diamondbacks before being replaced by Kevin Pillar in the fourth inning. Hilliard is hitting .236 with three homers in 78 at-bats. He played for the Colorado Rockies in his first four seasons.The Braves selected the contract of right-hander Seth Elledge from Triple-A Gwinnett. Left-hander Danny Young was released. DENVER (KDVR) -- Denver Police said a report of a shot heard at the Cherry Creek Shopping Center was unfounded.The report was made just before 2 p.m. Wednesday. Police said officers responded to the area and that the call was unfounded as of 2 p.m.SkyFOX was over the scene as police exited the building. DENVER (KDVR) -- A Deputy with the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office went out of his way to buy groceries for a family after realizing that two children were without food.Deputies responded to a domestic dispute involving a 71-year-old woman, Vicki, and her boyfriend. Nehemiah Harden, better known by his rap alias SpottemGottem, was apprehended by the Miami-Dade Police Department Tuesday, following a high-speed chase and the discovery of illegal firearms.According to the arrest form, the incident unfolded as law enforcement officers were conducting a proactive detail in response to a surge in violent crimes in the area near NE 164 Street and NE 6th Avenue. One person was killed and another person was injured after a shooting occurred inside a Walmart in Florida City. Miami-Dade Police are investigating the incident, which occurred around 3 p.m., Wednesday at 33501 S. Dixie Highway. According to 7Skyforce’s Ralph Rayburn, two individuals sustained gunshot wounds during the incident, with one person injured in the foot and the other in the abdomen. Additionally, a third person required medical attention for a panic attack resulting from the incident.One of the victims is receiving treatment at Jackson South Hospital. The family of a four-year-old boy struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash in Hyde Park Tuesday night is mourning the loss as a police investigation into the incident continues. Police said the driver involved in the crash fled the scene on Wood Avenue. The City of Lawrence and a high-ranking police officer are facing a civil suit after being accused of using excessive force against a man in custody.The suit claims that Lawrence Police Captain Michael Mangan clotheslined a 29-year-old man in custody by pushing the man’s head into a metal door and onto the concrete floor, then tackling and handcuffing the suspect.The alleged victim was booked for a noise complaint in March. Massachusetts would stand up a new agency, empowered with subpoena power and other regulatory muscle, to oversee public transit safety under a bill that has cleared the Joint Committee on Transportation.Nearly a year after federal investigators said the Department of Public Utilities was falling short of its MBTA safety oversight responsibilities, the committee advanced legislation that would strip those duties from the DPU and instead assign them to a proposed Office of Transit Safety.The new office would be an independent entity “not subject to the supervision or control” of any other state board, agency or department, according to a copy of the legislation provided by committee co-chair Rep.
