Person shot by bicyclist in Highland Park: Police HIGHLAND PARK, Ill. -- An individual was shot in Highland Park Sunday afternoon, police said. According to Highland Park police, an individual was shot in the 2300 block of Green Bay Road and was transported to the hospital. Police have secured the area and individuals are asked to avoid the area for investigation. Man hospitalized after attempted carjacking, shooting in Loop Police reported that this was an isolated incident between two individuals and that the male offender reportedly fled on a bicycle dressed in all black. If any information is recovered on the incident, contact police. WGN is actively following this incident and will update as more information is recovered.

Students are going back to school, Halloween decorations are in the stores, and it is almost time to buy your annual hunting and fishing licenses.The Texas Parks & Wildlife Department will being license sales on Tuesday, August 15th. 2023 licenses expire at the end of August.More than 2.7 million licenses are sold each year, according to the state agency. The way a city is designed can make hot weather feel even worse. The temperature on your block is influenced by everything from the number of trees on the street to the color of the pavement. When trees and vegetation (which absorb heat) are replaced by buildings and roads (which can radiate heat), it feels hotter. Albany man arrested on weapon charges ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany man has been arrested following a shots fired investigation, according to police. Zion Gaddy, 22, faces multiple charges. St. Louis teens subjected to carjacking and robbery ST. LOUIS -- Officers responded to a stolen car report in the 1500 block of Salisbury. The victims were two juveniles who were visiting a friend they only knew by a nickname. During their visit, the friend brought three unknown black male teens over to visit as well. At one point, the friend indicated he had to return home. Shortly after he left, the three unknown teens produced guns and ordered the victims to drive them around the city. Near North 20th Street and Breman Ave, they made victims reset their phones and hand them over. The victims were told to remove their shoes and clothes before being ordered out of the car. The suspects fled in a 2004 black Mazda Tribute belonging to a victim. They sought help at a relative's house to call the police. The case is still under investigation.

64-year-old man caught with drugs and handgun during traffic stop in San Bernardino County A man was found to be in possession of drugs and a handgun after authorities conducted a traffic stop in Grand Terrace. According to a release from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department, a deputy with the Central Station conducted a “proactive vehicle check” after a record check of the car’s driver – 64-year-old Alphonzo Harrison of Grand Terrace – indicated he had a misdemeanor warrant for being a felon in possession of ammunition. Harrison was stopped near the intersection of Mount Vernon Avenue and Canal Street just before 10 a.m. Wednesday, authorities said.“During a search of Harrison’s vehicle, [Deputy Daniel] Price located a loaded 9mm handgun and approximately nine grams of suspected methamphetamine,” an SBSD statement said.   Armed suspects barricaded in Ontario home after hours-long pursuit Harrison was arrested and charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm and possession of a controlled substance while armed with a loaded firearm. A search...
