California State University Long Beach’s Shark Lab has documented just how close and how often juvenile white sharks are approaching swimmers and surfers off the Southern California coast.Researchers used drones to document the activity across 26 Southern California beaches for two years. They often found young Great white sharks coming very close to people without them even noticing.The good news: In all the interactions they documented, researchers didn’t find any shark bites.A shark swims near unsuspecting boarders in this undated photo. Oakland Coliseum denizens are planning a reverse boycott on June 13 to tell the world that Oakland A’s fans won’t go down silently amid plans to move the team to Las Vegas from its home of 55 years. The boycott seeks to fill up as many seats as possible at the old stadium for an otherwise nondescript Tuesday night game against the Tampa Bay Rays.To get butts in seats, a group of fans called the Oakland 68s collaborated with local clothing company Oaklandish to produce and give out to attendees thousands of green shirts that read “SELL” in white across the chest. (KRON) -- A woman and two children were found dead in a residence in Fremont at 1 p.m. on Monday, the Fremont Police Department said. Officers with Fremont PD and Fremont Fire responded to a residence in the 40000 block of Inglewood Commons on a report of an "ascertain a problem" call. (BCN) -- In the years since George Floyd's murder, San Jose has aimed to reform its police department, yet the number of complaints against officers has increased for the third year running, according to a new report. One out of every three of San Jose's nearly 1,100 police officers received some type of complaint in 2022, a slight increase over 2021. The city's Office of the Independent Police Auditor released its annual report this week for 2022, containing statistics regarding complaints and investigations into officer conduct. It also makes recommendations to the department to improve policing in the city, which the police chief will respond to at a City Council meeting on Tuesday.
