(KRON) – San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins announced Thursday that San Francisco resident Jose Manuel Flores Avila, 33, has been charged in connection to an alleged rape of a 95-year-old woman and burglary of her home in the Excelsior District. The alleged rape happened before 6:00 a.m. on Sept. 13. Flores Avila was arraigned on Sept. 27. Flores Avila pled not guilty to one count of rape by force with an allegation that he committed burglary with intent to commit rape.Flores Avila was charged with separate counts of burglary with intent to commit a sexual assault, first-degree residential burglary with an allegation that the victim was present at the time of the burglary, elder abuse, and assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury. (BCN) -- A 63-year-old Oklahoma woman has pleaded no contest to second-degree murder for fatally shooting a store owner in San Carlos 30 years ago, San Mateo County prosecutors said Thursday.Rayna Hoffman-Ramos was arrested last year for the fatal shooting of Shu Ming Tang, who owned the Devonshire Little Store, on April 26, 1993.According to the county District Attorney's Office, investigators obtained a journal in which Hoffman-Ramos expressed regret for the killing, which led to her arrest in Oklahoma in March 2022. CSPD is still looking for Kula. He is a white man, 5'10" tall and weighing 245 pounds. He has brown eyes and is balding. VISTA, Calif. -- A driver was killed Thursday in a head-on crash in Vista, authorities said.The collision occurred around 7 a.m. in the 400 block of N. Melrose Drive, Sgt. Eric Cottrell with the San Diego County Sheriff's Department (SDSO) said in a news release.Authorities say a driver in a Chevy was traveling northbound when the vehicle drifted into the southbound lane and collided with a Toyota.First responders arrived on scene and attempted lifesaving measures on the driver of the Chevy, but he died from his injuries, per SDSO. The Toyota driver, however, was not injured in the collision.
