Two prospective starters didn’t make the trip to Denver with the rest of the Patriots and have been ruled out for their Christmas Eve matchup with the Broncos.The Patriots ruled out offensive tackle Conor McDermott (concussion) and tight end Hunter Henry (knee) on Saturday afternoon. McDermott, who has started in place of left tackle Trent Brown in five of the six games he’s played this season, missed the week of practice in concussion protocol. A 90-year-old pedestrian has died from being struck by a vehicle in Georgetown on Saturday morning.Halton police responded to reports of a collision between a pedestrian and a vehicle just before 7:30 a.m. at Mountainview Road South.The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.The cause of the incident is under investigation, and Halton police’s Collision Reconstruction Unit attended and has taken over the investigation.Several witnesses remained at the scene, however any other witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage is asked to contact police.A rebel attack on Burundi from neighboring Congo has left at least 20 dead, the government says

NAIROBI, Kenya (AP) — At least 20 people have been killed in Burundi following an attack by a rebel group based in the neighboring Democratic Republic of Congo, a Burundian government spokesman said Saturday.Among those killed were 12 children and three women, two of whom were pregnant, spokesman Jérôme Niyonzima said in a statement.The attack targeted nine homes on Friday evening in the western town of Vugizo, close to the Lake Tanganyika border with Congo, according to the Burundian government. They said that a vehicle crashed into a tree on Saint David’s Lane near Morgan Avenue. Get the latest news, weather, sports and more delivered right to your inbox!
