DENVER (KDVR) — It's not a secret, landlocked states like Colorado don't have saltwater fish. Most fish get shipped in from coastal states, but it's not just the expected seafood states like Boston or Maine, local restaurants get fish from all over. Did you know Denver is one of the freshest non-coastal places you can get fish? FOX31 asked local seafood restaurants where they get their fish from and how quickly it gets to the restaurant. Surprisingly, most of the answers were different:Water GrillWater Grill gets some of its fish from southern California, but it's really all over. The restaurant requests oysters from wherever they're in season. "We offer Kumamoto year round, but that's probably our most varied oyster. So right now we have Kumamoto from California. But just a couple of weeks ago, we had some from Mexico, and soon we will start sourcing them from Washington. So we get them from all over the coastline, depending on the season," said Mallory Fink, general manager at ...Charges against Alec Baldwin could be refiled as forensic report shows trigger on gun used in ‘Rust’ shooting had to be pulled

(CNN) — Independent testing on the weapon used in a fatal shooting on the set of the film “Rust” shows the trigger had to be pulled, the gun fired normally and did not malfunction, according to a report filed in court, raising the possibility that charges could be refiled against actor Alec Baldwin.“The fired evidence cartridge is the consequence of a normal hammer fall from the fully cocked position of the hammer,” the report compiled by Forensic Science Services in Arizona states. The report was filed as part of a defense motion on behalf of the film’s armorer, Hannah Gutierrez Reed, who is charged with tampering with the gun used in the shooting as well as two counts of involuntary manslaughter. The October 2021 shooting on a New Mexico film set killed cinematographer Halyna Hutchins and injured director Joel Souza. They were struck by a live round of ammunition fired from a prop gun being held by Baldwin while rehearsing a scene, officials have said.CNN’s calls to Baldwin for comme...Bidens to visit Hawaii on Monday following Maui wildfires

(CNN) — President Joe Biden and first lady Dr. Jill Biden will travel to Hawaii on Monday, the White House announced, as search, rescue and recovery efforts continue following the devastating wildfires there.“The President and First Lady will travel to Maui on Monday, August 21 to meet with first responders, survivors, as well as federal, state, and local officials, in the wake of deadly wildfires on the island,” White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said in a statement. The planned visit comes amid mounting pressure on Biden, who – despite signing a federal disaster declaration last week – had only sparingly referenced the disaster, which has left at least 100 dead. The relative silence did not go unnoticed by Biden’s critics, including former President Donald Trump and other Republicans, and the Biden administration in recent days has been promoting its commitment to helping local authorities recover and rebuild. The Bidens, Jean-Pierre said, will “see firsthand the impacts...Austria’s Putin ally says Russia better for holidays than Seychelles, Maldives

On Wednesday, Kneissl told TASS that she does not live in Petrushovo, but that she rented a “small house” there. While the Maldives is famous for its golden sandy beaches, glimmering turquoise waters and five-star resorts, tiny Petrushovo offers quiet count...Two intoxicated US tourists ‘trapped’ overnight up the Eiffel Tower

SETE will press charges for the intrusion, the operator said, although they admitted that the two men presented “no threat”.“As no damage was found, the fine for trespassing on a historic or cultural site was dismissed,” the Paris prosecutor’s office added. As a result o...Trust claims prize on $25 million winning lottery ticket purchased in Somerville

BEIRUT (AP) — Syria’s president early Wednesday doubled public sector wages and pensions as the war-torn country’s national currency spiraled further downwards, reaching a new low for the year. President Bashar Assad issued the two decrees just before midnight Tuesday as the Syrian pound’s value against the U.S. dollar declined to a new all-time low, down from 7,000 at the beginning of 2023 to 15,000 pounds to the greenback.
