(NEXSTAR) – Facebook users (and ex-Facebook users) have one month left to claim their piece of a massive $725 million class action lawsuit settlement announced earlier this year.Facebook parent company Meta recently agreed to pay the sum to settle claims it allowed people’s personal data to be shared with third parties. The most famous third party to get access was Cambridge Analytica, a consulting firm that supported Donald Trump’s 2016 presidential campaign. Facebook’s $725M settlement is huge, but how much will you actually get? Meta agreed to the payout, but denies any wrongdoing.The deadline to file a claim is Aug. 25, 2023. If you file a claim by mail, it has to be postmarked by that date. If you file it online, it needs to be done by 11:59 p.m. the night of Aug. 25. Detectives with the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department are working to piece together clues in the fatal shooting of a man and a woman inside a vehicle parked at scenic overlook in Ranchos Palos Verdes early Monday. According to an LASD bulletin, the incident was reported around 6:30 a.m. in the 7000 block of Palos Verdes Drive. It was a hiker who reportedly made the gruesome discovery and called 911. The victims, both believed to be in their 30s, were found in a bullet-riddled Subaru in the parking lot of Pelican Cove Park, which overlooks the Pacific Ocean. The Los Angeles Police Department searched the home of two more city employees in connection with the investigation into leaked audio recordings that led to resignations and turmoil at Los Angeles City Hall. According to the Los Angeles Times, authorities in Eagle Rock searched the Home of Santos Leon and Karla Vasquez, seizing computers from their property. Both Leon and Vasquez, who are married, worked for the Los Angeles County Federation of Labor when the recordings were made. Neither has been publicly named a a suspect in the case. The four Los Angeles City officials heard in the leaked recording are Nury Martinez, Ron Herrera, Gil Cedillo and Kevin de León. Martinez and Herrera have since resigned from their positions. A man has been terrorizing residents of an east Hollywood apartment building and creeping around the complex naked. Fearful residents in the complex say the man keeps breaking in, walking around naked, and disturbing their peace. “He’s been trying to break into apartments,” said 27-year-old resident Vanessa Salguero. “He was walking around naked one night, just full on naked. I wasn’t able to sleep the last week or so.
